Besides all other eye problems a new danger “Digital Eye strain” (Termed as Digital Eye Syndrome in medical science) has developed. Now TV, Phone, cameras, Computers, Laptops, Mobile Phone, Video games(Online or Offline) and many other electronics, you can say almost all these things are digital. In comparison with the nineties digital exposure among the youth has gone as high as 2000 per cent.

What is digital Eye Strain

It is an eye disorder mostly found in the people working on or in front of digital screens mostly Computer. It does not mean that only a computer screen is harmful. Playing games on mobiles or gaming devices and long term watching TV program is also adversely effects the eyes. About 20 per cent people working in digital atmosphere are effected more or less.

Symptoms of Digital Eye Strain or Computer Eye Syndrome

1. Eye fatigue or eye strain is a common and annoying symptom.

2. Dry or Watery Eyes.

3. Tired, itching and burning eyes.

4. Redness in eyes.

5. Fainted vision.

6. Double or a blurred vision.

7. Significant change in vision

8. Difficulty in focusing

9. Sensitivity to light.

10. Mild headache.

11. Backache.

Remedies for Digital Eye Strain or Computer Eye Syndrome

1. Adjust your computer monitor screen at a distance of 20 inches or more.

2. Adjust your computer monitor screen a little below your eye level.

3. Use a filter or antiglare glass over your monitor screen.

4. Always choose the monitor that tilts or swivel.

5. Graphics are more harmful in comparison with text.

6. The 20 Formula- after working for 20 minutes, look at some object at a distance of about 20 feet.

7. Frequently leave your seat and walk out side for a while. Viewing a natural(Not a photograph) scenery is the best option.
