Most Dangerous and lethal Foods in the world people starve to eat- In common we need to eat to live but there are lot of people who live to eat. Some people even risk their lives for a taste of few minute. Others become merciless while eating live animals. People can pay a huge amount for a single dish even some foods can be lethal, may the risk be very low but they must think that some risk is there. You can imagine that the most poisonous fish in the world is consumed in thousands of tons per year in a single country(Japan). A list of most dangerous foods in the world which may cause severe allergies, make you sick, take you in comma or even kill you is given below -

The Rhubarb


Rhubarb or the pie plant  has a medicinal history originating in Asia, but a large amount of the leaves can cause poisoning. Rhubarb stalks are great in a crumble,  but avoid the leaves at all costs. They contain poisonous toxins which could make you very sick, or even kill you. Therefore neither cooked nor raw rhubarb leaves should be consumed, owing to the toxins like oxalate. 

The Live octopus


Most of the people prefer non vegetarian food to be dead and properly cooked when it reaches to their plate, but it is not so in Korea. There you can order live octopus, which is chopped up and seasoned while still alive. The suction cups of a live octopus may prove to be dangerous because these are still active and can stick to your throat, suffocating you. potentially

Peanuts are fine if you are not at all allergic to Peanuts. In the world Peanuts account for more food allergy deaths than any other food. Pretty scary when you consider it affects around 1% of people. Don't let Mr. Peanut's top hat and monocle fool you, beneath that gentlemanly exterior lies one deadly little nut if you're one of the roughly 1% of the population that has a peanut allergy. It's the most common cause of food-allergy Asthma and Immunology, deaths, according to the American Academy of Allergy and it’s on the rise.




The Wild mushrooms

Mushrooms are largely used as a nutritious food but you must be able to identify poisonous and nonpoisonous mushrooms. Please don't get surprised but it is a reality that Aside from hallucinogenic properties, mushrooms may kill you too. Varieties like the Death Cap, Destroying Angels and Deadly Webcap are highly poisonous and capable of killing you. Some wild mushrooms look innocent but are actually lethal. Take a bite and you're likely to experience severe abdominal pain and vomiting. Eaten in large amounts they can cause liver, kidney and heart damage, which may ultimately lead to death.

The Hákarl(The Shark Meat)


Hákarl the shark meat is first buried to ferment in its own fluids, then it is hung up to dry and is prized in Greenland. The real problem is that the shark doesn’t have a natural urinary tract, which means potentially toxic substances are not filtered out and stored in the meat it self. These substances are totally impure and cause serious damage to the health of the consumer.

The Fugu (pufferfish or blowfish)


It costs so high that an ordinary man can’t afford and it is so dangerous that if there is a small mistake in the cooking process, you will die on the table itself before eating it and it’s  so tasty that you can risk your life. Yes it is the Japanese Pufferfish, or blowfish or “ the fugu”, which is the world’s most dangerous delicacy. Chefs in Japan go through several years of training to learn how to remove the toxic parts of the fish. Normal price of a fugu dish is up to $200. But this hasn't stopped the Japanese. About 40 kinds of fugu are caught in Japan, and people consume about 10,000 tons of the fish every year. The intestines, ovaries and liver of fugu contain a poison called tetrodotoxin, which is 1,200 times deadlier than cyanide. The toxin is so potent that a lethal dose is smaller than the head of a pin, and a single fish has enough poison to kill 30 people. Eating just a tiny amount (Equal to a pin head) of the wrong bit can be lethal.

The Ackee


Though The Ackee is originally from West Africa and it migrated to Jamaica in 1778 and it is now the Jamaica's national fruit. Ackee is a fruit which is much Loved in Jamaica and Ackee with codfish is Jamaica's national dish, but the ackee fruit must only be eaten when it is fully ripe and properly prepared because Unripe ackee fruit contains a poison called hypoglycin which, other than the self-explanatory symptoms, can lead to coma or death.

The Cassava


It is known as tapioca in America. Cassava is eaten widely in Africa and South America by preparing pudding of its toots but must be very thoroughly cooked before being eaten. Chew it raw, and an enzyme in the tuber converts into cyanide. Some of the people are also allergic to the plant. The American Cancer Society warns that those with a latex rubber allergy might be more susceptible and should consider opting for a different dessert.

The Tuna Tremors


The Fish tuna has become one of the most widely consumed fish in the world. It also has somewhat of a mixed reputation. Pregnant women and young children  are warned against eating too much of the albacore ("white") variety of the fish out of concern that the high mercury levels could damage the unborn or young child's developing nervous system. The FDA has also warned against the likelihood of fresh fish lovers falling prey to Scombroid, a mild food poisoning caused by the toxins emitted from improperly refrigerating fish such as tuna, mackerel, bluefish and mahi-mahi.

The Raw cashews Nuts


Even if you don’t have a nut allergy, never eat a cashew nut from the tree. Raw cashews contain a toxic substance that can be fatal if eaten in large quantities. Even consumed in small quantity may cause severe boils on face and lips. It may prove very dangerous to the eyes. The raw cashews in supermarkets have been steamed to remove the dangerous chemical.

The Bean sprouts


Bean sprouts are a common ingredient, especially in Asian cuisine, made from sprouting beans. The typical bean sprout is made from the greenish-capped mung beans. Other common bean sprouts are the usually yellow, larger-grained soy sprouts. Bean sprouts are one of the worst foods for harbouring  E. coli, salmonella, and listeria bacteria which thrive in the same warm, humid conditions that sprouts are grown in. Bean sprouts grown in Germany were identified as the likely cause of an outbreak of E. coli that killed 22 people and sickened hundreds more in Europe in 2011.

The Shellfish


Shellfish is widely consumed in Japan, America, south east and all Gulf countries. The Jewish laws of Kashrut forbid the eating of shellfish. The book of Leviticus also prohibits the consumption of shellfish but these laws don’t effect its consumption considerably. Shellfish can be incredibly dangerous if you have an allergy. While some people experience hives, itching, swelling, wheezing, and abdominal pain, others can go into anaphylactic shock, which stops them from breathing and can be life-threatening without medication.
